Let’s all face it; we’ve all done something that we felt terrible for and truly repented of but we felt bad all the same.
Sometimes it feels like God is far away in that moment and we blame ourselves for the wrong we’ve done, we think God cannot possibly forgive our sin because it’s too great.
I have been there, and I believe there are some like me who’ve been there, done that and are still waiting to be forgiven.
Well, let’s be honest here. If you know my blog well, you’d know that honesty in my writings are key here.
- There are so many quotes and lessons in the scriptures that relates to this. We see a God-fearing man like David who stole another man’s wife and got him killed, he always offended God and always had apologies lined up in his Psalms for God. We can read all of his prayers in the Psalms.
ALWAYS RECITE THE SCRIPTURES, LET THEM SETTLE IN YOUR HEART – MEDITATE
2. Use the scripture that speaks to your heart concerning the situation to pray.
3. Do not dwell on it. God is not man and doesn’t forgive like us humans, he is a God of complete and total forgiveness
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. [Isaiah 55:7]
4. When you are reminded of your past, remember that Christ paid the price for you
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [Romans 8:1]
FORGIVE YOURSELF AND MOVE ON
