A few of my godly friends who I’ve had conversations with this year will attest to my interest in the names of God lately. So recently, I stopped writing “Jehovah”, still working on my mentioning “YAHWEH” more because I got to realise that the actual translation is YHWH, why was it changed? (blame the English people of the time of King James).
Anyway, so I went on an adventure while at work today (I work for a Jewish company too!), I searched for more of the word YHWH and in my search, I found Jesus mentioned in a Greek mythology explanation that the word is a translation from Je-Zeus. The “sus” has been used in pagan gods. You can imagine how insulting this sounds!!
And then I thought of the great works Christ did on earth and realised that this is possible because people didn’t really like him. However, God turned this evil for good so that those who have been deceived by the wrong interpretations can still benefit from his love.
To really understand it, I broke down the word: Yahshua
Think for a second.
Yah — YHWH and Shua — salvation OR saves. Yahweh saves!! Now that leads me to Matthew 1:21
And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Switching it up a bit based on this topic. The correct statement should be:
And she shall bring forth a son, and you shall call his name Yahshua: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Let me know what you think.
