The sun shines, mind wanders

As the sun shines
My eyes flip open
About time to dine

My mind wanders
Yet I’m reminded
Of Him, who Fathers

Yes, I’m in awe
Yet, I do not kneel
I feel sad and dull

The book lay beside me
I do not lift it up
My prayers all in me

I begin to speak
To him who has done this
No power, though I speak

My heart tears up
My mind worries
Will the day be up?

When I wander
Not the right way
Let my feet not linger

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour

1 Peter 5:8 [KJV]
