Though it looked beautiful

Hebrews 11:25
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season

Presented on a platter
It is layered so beautifully
My eyes looks, no clutter
I am taken on its sight

Going on like I had no brother
That friend more than a brother
Looks at me in pity
I ignore his words without spite

I keep walking with boldness
The boldness that was all fickle
In only a matter of time
It all came a’crashing

That friend returns with words
It slams and slashes, even slays
I stagger and fall and try to rise
He pulls me down to look up

My eyes heavy from the pain of past
Yet the pain of the flesh’s consequence,
Hits me severely I cannot muster
I almost slip off earth till—

The sight before my eyes was healing
Light shone so bright in my heart
Revealing what seemed so unpardonable
In a second, I became anew
